SANCTITY: Van Theft Forces Milwaukee Concert Cancellation
December 3, 2006Asheville, North Carolina-based classic metal quartet SANCTITY was forced to miss last night's (Dec. 2) concert at The Eagles club in Milwaukee with CHILDREN OF BODOM, AMON AMARTH and GOJIRA after the group's van was stolen, a representative for the group's record label, Roadrunner Records, has confirmed to BLABBERMOUTH.NET. It is not presently clear if this will affect the group's participation in any of the other remaining dates on the tour.
CHILDREN OF BODOM, AMON AMARTH, SANCTITY and GOJIRA are scheduled to perform at the Gypsy Club in Dallas, Texas Monday night (Dec. 4).
SANCTITY has set "Road to Bloodshed" as the title of its new album, due in early 2007 via Roadrunner Records. The group formed in 2000 and is comprised of Jared MacEachern (vocals, rhythm guitar),Zeff Childress (lead guitar),Billy Moody (bass) and Jeremy London (drums).
SANCTITY was signed by longtime Roadrunner A&R man and purveyor of seminal metal bands like SEPULTURA, SLIPKNOT, and — most recently — TRIVIUM, Monte Conner. Says Conner: "SANCTITY is straight-up, guitar-based, melodic heavy metal. I received a video of the band's song 'Zeppo', and besides showcasing the blazing fretwork of lead shredder Zeff, the main thing I got from the video was a sense of how of much a star the vocalist (Jared) really is. He knows how to command a stage and has an overwhelming presence. The minute I saw Jared in action, I knew I had to sign the band. Of equal importance, he's got an amazing vocal range and a fresh style compared to what's out there today."
SANCTITY took part in this year's Gigantour alongside MEGADETH, LAMB OF GOD, ARCH ENEMY and OPETH. A list of upcoming tour dates can be found at this location.
